With the consumption of fossil fuels and the threat of climate change, the demand for green energy is increasing. Methane is an important clean energy, with lots of advantages, such as high efficiency, low pollution, lower greenhouse gas emissions, etc. Nowadays, methane production mostly relies on fossil fuels such as natural gas and coal. However, due to the limited resources of those energy sources, it is difficult to meet the growing energy demand. Therefore, it is of great significance to find new methods and ways to produce methane.

 

In recent years, with the intensification of global climate change and the increasingly prominent environmental problems, the demand and application of renewable energy have become more and more urgent. CO2 with H2 to methane is a method to reduce carbon emission and achieve green production. Carbon dioxide hydrogenation to methane technology is a method to produce methane by hydrogenation reaction of carbon dioxide and hydrogen. The method requires a certain catalyst, nickel-based methanation catalyst is commonly used.


The main reaction is: CO2+4H2 CH4 + 2H2O

 

The technology of carbon dioxide hydrogenation to synthesize methane is expected to become a new direction of energy transformation. Its application prospects are mainly manifested in the following aspects:
